Abstract:

Primary stability and success of the dental implants depends on adequate bone volume. Bone grafting and reformation is a challenge to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in dealing with complex dental implant procedures. Recent surge in implantology has now put more emphasis on adequate bone volume of the residual alveolar ridge, so that an implant based rehabilitation is possible. Maxillofacial surgeons across the globe are now seeing the increased demand for procedures to improve the volume of the alveolar bone. Various techniques like socket preservation to distraction are available for the surgeon. Minimising the alveolar bone loss, preserving what is left and reforming what is left remains the fundamental modalities. Newer predictable results in bone reformation methods are emerging day by day with the increased understanding of the role of bone morphogenic protein and functional matrix theory. The presentation explains about Genesis Implants used in various bone reformation methods starting from single implant augmentation to full arch rehabilitation which are performed by Dr. Arvind UD & Team are illustrated by a series of case presentations.
